This Privacy Policy explains how W.L.P Academy Pte Ltd may collect, use, disclose, or otherwise process personal data when you use our services or access our website.

This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) sets out the basis on which W.L.P Academy Pte Ltd (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, or processes your personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (“PDPA”). This Policy applies to all personal data in our possession or control, including personal data held by organisations engaged by us to process data on our behalf.


1. PERSONAL DATA

In this Policy, “Personal data” refers to data, whether true or not, about an individual who can be identified:

(a) from that data alone; or

(b) from that data together with other information we have or are likely to have access to.

“Data intermediary” means an organisation that processes personal data on behalf of another organisation (the data controller).

(i) Depending on how you interact with us, the personal data we may collect includes (but is not limited to) your name, email address, contact number, nationality, facial images, employment-related information, and CCTV footage.

(ii) Any terms used in this Policy that are defined under the PDPA shall carry the same meanings unless the context requires otherwise.


2. BUSINESS CONTACT INFORMATION (BCI)

(a) Under the PDPA, business contact information (such as name, business address, and business telephone number) is not treated as personal data where it is used strictly for business-to-business (B2B) purposes.


3. COLLECTION, USE AND DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL DATA

We generally collect personal data only when you voluntarily provide it to us directly or through a third party authorised by you (“authorised representative”), after:

(a) being informed of the purposes for which the data is collected; and
(b) giving written consent for its collection and use; or
(c) such collection or use is permitted or required under the PDPA or other applicable laws.

We will obtain your consent before collecting additional personal data or using your data for purposes not previously notified, unless otherwise permitted by law.

You may choose how your personal data is collected, used, or disclosed. You have the right to withdraw consent as outlined in Clause 15. However, if you do not provide required personal data, we may be unable to fulfil certain services or purposes.

We may collect, use, or disclose personal data without consent where allowed under the PDPA or other laws, including but not limited to:

  • responding to emergencies that threaten life, health, or safety; and
  • matters required in the national interest or for investigations or legal proceedings.

Any unsolicited personal data received will be returned or deleted immediately. Data received via phone will not be recorded.

Where we act as a data intermediary, personal data will be processed strictly according to the instructions and purposes specified by the data controller.


4. COOKIES

(a) Our website uses cookies to enhance user experience, enable basic site functions, analyse website usage, recognise repeat visits, and measure traffic.

(b) Cookies are stored on your device only with your consent. By clicking “Accept” on our cookie banner or continuing to use our website without changing cookie settings, you consent to our use of cookies. You may disable cookies at any time, though doing so may affect website functionality.


5. PURPOSES FOR USE OF PERSONAL DATA

(a) We may collect and use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • providing goods and services requested by you;
  • responding to enquiries, feedback, complaints, or applications;
  • using talent facial images for advertising purposes in accordance with agreed terms;
  • purposes for which you have provided the data; and
  • other incidental business purposes related to the above.

(b) We may disclose your personal data:

  • where necessary to fulfil our services or obligations;
  • for public advertising where consent or agreement has been provided;

to third-party service providers or data intermediaries engaged by us, who may only use the data to perform their assigned functions.

(c) These purposes may continue to apply even after your relationship with us ends, for a reasonable period, including to enforce contractual rights.


6. WITHDRAWAL OF CONSENT

(a) Your consent remains valid until withdrawn in writing. You may withdraw consent by submitting a written request or emailing our Data Protection Officer using the contact details below.

(b) Upon receiving your request, we will process it within a reasonable time, generally within ten (10) business days, and inform you of any consequences arising from the withdrawal.

(c) Withdrawal of consent may affect our ability to continue providing services. We will notify you accordingly before completing the request. You may cancel your withdrawal by informing us in writing.

(d) Withdrawal of consent does not affect our right to process personal data where permitted or required by law.


7. ACCESS TO AND CORRECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

(a) You may request: 

  • access to your personal data or information on how it has been used or disclosed; or
  • correction of inaccurate or outdated personal data,
    by submitting a written request or email to our Data Protection Officer

(b) A reasonable fee may apply for access requests. If so, you will be informed in advance.

(c) We will respond within thirty (30) calendar days where possible. If more time is required, we will notify you accordingly. If we are unable to comply with your request, we will explain the reasons unless prohibited by law. 


8. PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

(a) We implement appropriate administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to protect personal data, including access controls, encryption, password protection, and limiting access on a need-to-know basis.

(b) While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We continually review and enhance our security practices.


9. ACCURACY OF PERSONAL DATA

(a) We rely on data provided by you or your authorised representative. Please notify our Data Protection Officer of any changes to ensure accuracy. We take reasonable steps to keep personal data accurate, complete, and up to date.


10. RETENTION OF PERSONAL DATA

(a) Personal data will be retained only as long as necessary to fulfil its purpose or to meet legal or business requirements.

(b) When retention is no longer necessary, we will securely dispose of the data or anonymise it.


11. TRANSFER OF PERSONAL DATA OUTSIDE SINGAPORE

(a) We generally do not transfer personal data outside Singapore. If such transfer is necessary, we will obtain your consent and ensure comparable data protection standards are maintained.


12. DATA BREACH NOTIFICATION

(a) In the event of a data breach, we will assess its impact and notify the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) within three (3) calendar days if the breach is notifiable. Affected individuals will be informed where significant harm is likely.

14. EFFECT OF POLICY AND CHANGES
